Broadford Rovers F.C. and Rosemount Mulvey F.C. receive sports equipment grants
Congratulations to our local clubs Broadford Rovers and Rosemount Mulvey on the news that they will receive sports equipment grants totalling a combined €95,000.
I was delighted to join our own Green Party TD for Dublin Rathdown and Minister for Sport Catherine Martin on a visit ahead of this announcement to Naomh Olaf GAA to see how they have invested in their facilities and our local community with funds from the last round of this scheme.
This announcement for equipment only applications marks the first tranche of funds under the Sports Capital and Equipment Scheme which opened for applications in 2023, and I know many more clubs in the Dundrum area will look forward to further announcements for major capital investment in our local sports facilities later this year.
Minister Catherine Martin announced this investment in our local clubs in Dundrum and Ballinteer as part of a national package of over €26 million in equipment grants under the latest round of the Sports Capital and Equipment Programme.
The allocations announced today under the Sports Capital and Equipment Programme are in response to equipment-only applications which sporting organisations submitted across the country. Over 900 sports groups were successful in their applications for various types of equipment which will be of practical benefit to hundreds of sports organisations, their members and athletes across Ireland.
The total allocation of €26 million represents the largest-ever funding for sports equipment under the Sports Capital and Equipment Programme, underlining the Green Party's committment to investing in the clubs and organisations at the hearts of our communities.
